Earth & Fire: A Pottery Showcase Reception on August 19th!
About the Exhibit
Earth & Fire: A Pottery Showcase is WAC’s upcoming exhibit that will be shown at the Art Council’s Main Gallery from August 4th to September 29th. The third installment of WAC’s new gallery operations for 2026, this showcase features 24 unique clay pieces from 14 local and regional artists, all selected by a juried panel of artists and art leaders from the region.
Artists were asked to submit works that showcase the wide array of possibilities when working with clay. This exhibit will highlight ceramic art in all forms, showcasing the creativity and craftsmanship of artists working across functional, sculptural, and experimental styles. Audiences will see both thrown and hand-built pieces in an array of techniques, colors, glazes, and more. Pieces will be for sale during the exhibit run time.
Artist Reception: August 19th | 6-8pm | @ WAC
In addition to the exhibit, WAC will also be hosting an artist reception on Wednesday, August 19th, from 6-8 PM at WAC’s office (377 Shadowline Dr, Boone, NC 28607). This reception is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided, along with the chance to meet the artists and view and purchase artwork.
We encourage everyone to come by, grab a friend, and show their support for local art!
