Join us for our annual Small Works Holiday Gift Sale, a celebration of creativity, community, and the joy of giving local art!

Find the perfect holiday gift for a loved one (or a little something for yourself!) while exploring a unique collection of locally-made, small artwork, all priced at $100 or less.

Every purchase supports both participating artists and the Watauga Arts Council, helping us continue to advocate for, support, and celebrate the arts throughout the High Country.

Event Details

When: Festive First Friday (Friday, December 4th) from 5-8pm

Where: Betty’s Biscuits on King Street (640 W. King Street, Boone NC)

What: Explore and purchase small, locally made artwork of all mediums!

Admission: Free and open to all!

Enjoy an evening filled with art, conversation, and community! Artwork will be sold at set prices of $20, $40, $60, $80, and $100. Proceeds support both the participating artists and the Watauga Arts Council!

How to Participate

Click the dropdowns below for steps on how to participate!

    1. Registration is required.

    2. Artists may submit up to 5 pieces with a 50/50 sales split between the artist and WAC. Artists may also donate pieces, with 100% of proceeds going to WAC; donated pieces do not count toward the five-piece limit.

    3. Each piece must measure 12 inches or less on its longest side.

    4. All 2D and 3D mediums are welcome, excluding jewelry.

    5. Artwork must be display-ready and suitable for gifting.

    6. All pieces must be priced at $20, $40, $60, $80, or $100. Artwork priced at $20 and $40 may sell more quickly, as these price points are especially appealing for holiday gifting.

    7. After registering, drop off your work at WAC’s office (377 Shadowline Dr, Boone, NC 28607) by December 1st. Each piece must be labeled with Artist Name, Title of Piece (if applicable), and Price. Please also identify any fully donated pieces.

    8. Participation is subject to available space. WAC may close registration early if capacity is reached and will contact any affected artists.

  • Registration is required to participate. Register by clicking here or via the “Artist Registration” buttons on this website

  • Between now and December 1st, create or pull together your small masterpieces in any medium you wish (jewelry excluded). Just be sure to have it ready for drop off before the deadline!

    Artwork may be newly created for the sale or selected from existing work completed within the past year.

  • Bring your piece(s) to the Watauga Arts Council office during our regular hours:

    Monday thru Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM
    Deadline: December 1st (Please take note of business hours around the holidays.)

    Please label the back of each piece you are dropping off with the following information: Artist Name, Artwork Title (if applicable), and Price. Please also note any pieces you choose to donate.
