High Country Plein Air Painters and Watermedia Society
Aug-Sept 2025
The High Country Watermedia Society is a local art organization dedicated to promoting the practice and appreciation of watermedia art. The society supports its mission through educational programs, member exhibitions, and the administration of art-related grants. While their works span in range of media, they all use water as a focal component in their creations.
The High Country Plein Air Painters is a locally based group who paint “en plein air” – or, outside and on location. The works in their exhibit spanned a variety of mediums, including oil, watercolor, and ink, applied on surfaces such as canvas, linen, and board. Plein Air Painters aim to capture the immediacy of their surrounding environment, painting directly from the scenes in front of them.
