Artists Alan Gordon and Jennifer Murphy showcase their work in the Main Gallery and Flex Room throughout June and July 2025.

Alan Gordon is a published book illustrator, cartoonist, and painter whose work spans a range of mediums, including watercolor, acrylic, pen, and ink. Known for his vibrant style and sense of whimsy, Gordon brings a lively, expressive energy to each of his pieces.

Jennifer Murphy, daughter of Appalachian artist Norma Murphy, grew up immersed in art, nearly born with a paintbrush in hand. Her Expressionist works are guided by a deep instinctual connection to nature, often capturing moods and fleeting moments through a playful, whimsical lens.

Both artists will be on view through the end of July. We invite you to explore their colorful and expressive works that are full of character, emotion, and imagination.

Krista Holt

Krista is the Operations and Programs Manager at the Watauga Arts Council and a graduate from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor’s in Art History. Initially a volunteer, Krista began working with WAC in September of 2024. She specializes in communications and event programming, including overseeing arts education operations.
