Cole Avery

Living in the High Country over the last decade has influenced Cole Avery’s work and visual interest. Growing up in the south, Cole is drawn to rural landscapes and the structures that dwell on them. Since earning his BFA at Appalachian State University in 2016, Cole has focused on other creative pursuits but has returned to painting. He is drawn to the textures of aging barns and landscapes, patina that can only happen with time. His current work seeks to reflect that patina and texture, using thick layers of acrylic and other materials.
