Thank you for a wonderful Small Art Fundraiser!
Wow! What an amazing evening!
Thank you to everyone who came out and supported our Small Art Fundraiser this past Friday. The turnout was absolutely astounding, and we had such a wonderful time celebrating local creativity with you all.
Because of your enthusiasm and generosity, we were able to raise over $900 in support of the Watauga Arts Council’s operations. Your participation directly strengthens our ability to offer programs, events, and opportunities that uplift the arts in the High Country.
A special congratulations goes to Julia Friedrich, who won the evening’s People’s Choice Award for favorite artist! Her acrylic paintings on wood were colorful, bright, and full of personality, and really seemed to capture the attention of so many attendees. Julia will be receiving a prize from WAC next week, once the weather lets up a bit.
Thank you again, truly, to everyone who made the night such a success.
A Quick Update on the Post-Event Online Shop
We also wanted to share an update regarding the online shop we had planned to open after the event.
With the recent snowy weather, and the unpredictable office hours that come along with it, we’ve realized that managing online orders, preparing artwork for pickup, and coordinating delivery would require a significant amount of administrative time. More importantly, we don’t want anyone to feel pressured to travel in unsafe conditions.
After careful consideration, we’ve decided it’s best to pause the online shop for now. Here’s what will happen next:
Unsold pieces will be returned to artists who requested them back. Artists who selected this option should expect an email in the coming days, once staff are safely able to return to the office.
Remaining works will be saved for a future small art event, where they can shine once again, without weather challenges or scheduling complications.
We appreciate your understanding and flexibility as we navigate winter conditions and make decisions that best support our staff, our artists, and our community.
Stay warm and safe out there!
