Call for Art - Watauga Arts Council: Touchpoints, Exploring Texture in Art

WAC has opened their next call for art for an upcoming summer/fall texture-focused exhibit! Open to all mediums, whether 2D or 3D, artists are encouraged to create pieces which prioritize texture at the centerpiece of their work.

Deadline to apply is August 31st, 2026. No application fee. Juried opportunity.

First Friday Art Crawl Registration

If you’re interested in performing or selling your work downtown on King Street during First Friday Art Crawls, register as an Art Crawl artist through the Watauga Arts Council!

Annual registration fee: $60

Call for Vendors! Marketplace at Curiosity in West Jefferson

Marketplace at Curiosity is looking for permanent creative and artisanal vendors for their retail space.

Summer Drop-In Art Making @ The Turchin Center

Join Turchin Center intern Emily Suit on Summer Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2-4 pm in the Moskowitz Gallery for informal, student-led art-making sessions.

These sessions are excellent for experimenting and meeting other creatives.

Free, open to all, and no RSVP required!


Mountain BizWorks Creative Online Courses

Learn practical skills for creative entrepreneuriship, including photography of work, artwork pricing, grant writing, and more. Classes are online and self-paced, priced at $35/class.

Call for Art: Join the Arts Placement Program

Arts Placement is a Watauga Arts Council program that aims to place rotating exhibits into community spaces. We currently partner with Seby Jones Cancer Center, Explore Boone, and the Boone Chamber of Commerce.

Arts Placement accepts applications on a rolling basis. As applications are received, WAC staff will be in touch as opportunities arise.
