2022 Traditional Craft Mentorship Applications Are Open!
John C. Campbell Folk School Join us for the second installment of our Traditional Craft Mentorship program! These two-week series are an opportunity for emerging artists to spend time at the Folk School in Brasstown, learning from master artisans. Small groups of participants will join in focused sessions that enhance their interests, knowledge, and skills in traditional Appalachian craft, music, or dance. We hope this program will inspire the next generation of traditional crafters to keep these time-honored practices alive. Students will receive housing, meals and a $450 stipend for travel and class materials. Mentees will stay on campus during their two-week session with unlimited access to their given studio. Structured teaching and mentorship time will follow our standard class schedule (9 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 1:30 – 4:30 p.m.). We have committed through this program to serve the Appalachian region, and are actively recruiting applicants from Central Appalachia. We strongly encourage BIPOC and LGTBQ+ artists to apply. |

Calling all artists, crafters and makers!
Tanger Outlets is now accepting applications for the 2021 Artisan Marketplace Tanger Outlets Blowing Rock. There are three options of payments for the 2021 season, you must choose one of the three plans and follow all guidelines attached to such: PLAN 1: I’m ready to go! I will PRE-PAY in full for the entire season ($300) by May 1, 2021. I’m fully committed and understand I am getting a greatly discounted deal! 2 days per month for $40 x 7 months + $20 Black Friday & Saturday weekend = $300 for 8 scheduled events. I will commit to all dates rain or shine, I will not be refunded if I don’t show. PLAN 2: I can commit to MOST of the dates because I am participating in another show! I will PRE-PAY (for chosen dates) by May 1, 2021 and to receive the discounted price I must pre-pay for no less than 5 event dates. I must commit to the dates I choose, rain or shine. I will not be refunded if I don’t show. Also, IF my plans change and I want to ADD back unchosen dates, I will have to pay the increased PAY-PER-EVENT price see below. Plan 3: I have no idea what I want to commit to yet. I want to be in the show but rain scares me, even though Katy always makes it worth my while! I will PAY-PER-EVENT $80 for both Friday & Saturday, or $40 per single day. I am not guaranteed a spot and I am not getting the discounted season rate. I must contact Katy and commit to a date no less than 1 week in advance (for paperwork purposes). |
