Our Partnership Concert Series this year will feature all black Appalachian Artists as an extension of the BRAHM Jagged Path Exhibition. The outdoor concert will take place at the scenic location of Daniel Boone Gardens located at 651 Horn in the West Drive, Boone, NC 28607. (In event of rain, it will be held at BRAHM and the decision will be made no later than 48 hours in advance.) What to expect: It will be an intimate concert nestled in the beautiful native gardens. There will be Garden Volunteers on hand to give tours. There will also be plenty of Art Vendors and Food Trucks that guests can experience! What to bring: It is encouraged to bring either a Chair or Blanket. There will be limited seating provided, but can not be guaranteed. We are still accepting art vendor applications for all four events. You can come to one or come to all. They are $25 per time.

About the Band:
The Allen Boys are North Carolina's only touring Sacred Steel band and ambassadors. The Allen Boys bring a high energy, dynamic foot-stomping show that’s not to be missed. They developed their love for music in Mt. Airy, NC and learned to play a variety of musical instruments at an early age. About the Band:
Growing up on Flint Hill Rd., musician Trajan “Tray” Wellington's love for music bloomed at an early age while he listened to his grandpa play diverse styles of music. From learning traditional bluegrass to studying diverse genres such as jazz, progressive bluegrass, blues, rock, and more, Tray has gone on to play with some of the most accomplished musicians in the world. The Tray Wellington Band currently features Josiah Nelson, Nick Weitzenfeld, and Katelynn Lowe. |
July 17, 2022: Todd Wright Quartet
About the Musician:
Award-winning Todd Wright is director of jazz studies at Appalachian State University. He oversees the course of study for the Jazz Certification Program, and created the university's Jazz Vocal Ensemble. Wright was selected a winner of the Jazz Fellowship Award given by the North Carolina Arts Council. Proficient in jazz, his Appalachian students have gone to perform worldwide. About the Choir:
Nestled within the Junaluska neighborhood, one of the oldest predominantly African American communities in western North Carolina, the “little white church on the hill” has been home to some of the region’s most talent-rich gospel ensembles and over the years, the Junaluska Gospel Choir’s unique and eclectic sound has evolved into a passionate blend of gospel styles. The Junaluska Choir sings every Sunday morning at Boone Mennonite Brethren Church at 11 a.m. |
