Camp Information: Arts for Life is a week long camp, where teens will explore, create, and relax! This camp will be led by Dee Pelliccio, an artist and yoga instructor who loves to explore the therapeutic nature of art and making. All materials are provided. Monday: Yoga and Mandalas We will explore the breath and relaxation while creating Mandalas that speak to the heart. Graphite, watercolor, colored pencils, and other mixed media explorations.
Tuesday: Mixed Media Altered States We will create an abstract self portrait using words and images. A visual abstract of the layers of self.
Wednesday: Drawing 101 Explore graphite and the basics of drawing what you see. Train the eye to coordinate with the hand.
Thursday: Abstract Acrylic Painting We will let paint be paint and explore free flow with color!
Friday: Splatter or Pour Painting Splatter painting or paint pouring Gesture and energy with paint. Mixed materials included.
About the Instructor Born and raised on Long Island, New York, Dee pursued her interest in the arts at FIT in New York City and at the New York Institute of Technology. She received her BFA in Graphic Design from East Carolina University. She began designing for a living in April of 1996 in her Downtown Raleigh studio. In May of 2005, she moved to the mountains with her husband and daughter.
