Due Dates: Artist and Other Vendor Applications are due by April 27th. Applications are juried. The jurors will consider quality of work and booth presentation. Consideration will also be given to balancing the types of items/foods, so there is not too much of any one item represented. First preference given to Artists and Vendors with a Boone connection. Watauga Arts Council is hosting a "Paint the Town!" event. Pictures preserve the past, so let’s do what we can to preserve this point in time with our wonderful drawings and paintings. In honor of Boone’s 150th year anniversary, we invite Plein Air (outdoor) painters of all mediums and abilities to come to paint beloved scenery of Downtown Boone and its expanded areas. Register with the Arts Council to receive a list of can’t-miss locations or join the fun on your own. High Country Plein Air Painters invites painters to join them at the Historic Lovill House Inn on Wednesday, May 18th for a breakfast and paint session in their gardens from 9am - 12pm. A wet paint show will be held at the King Street Art Collective on Saturday May 21 from 6-8pm. Pictures from the wet paint show can be submitted into our “Paint the Town” exhibit that will run from May - the end of June. We invite artists to submit work (any medium) they have completed (old or new) that captures a moment in time here in Boone. We will allow artwork to be purchased off the wall or not-for-sale. Plein Air painters from out-of-town are invited to take advantage of a special rate at at the historic Lovill House Inn.
