Christy Chenausky is pleased to be stepping into the Community Arts Education Coordinator position for the Watauga County Arts Council. Partnering with the Watauga County School system and the Appalachian State University’s Office of Arts and Cultural Programs Christy’s position at the Arts Council will help continue to bring quality Arts Education to the Community of Watauga County.

Christy’s love for arts education was inspired at an early age through a variety of art, dance, acting, voice, and music lessons. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from Lees-McRae College in Theatre Arts Education. Christy was the first Drama teacher for Watauga County Elementary Schools with the A+ arts integration plan at Valle Crucis and Mabel Schools. She has spent the past several years as the Director of Family Ministries at the Banner Elk Christian Fellowship.

She and her husband, Brad, live in Linville, NC.
